Rijksmuseum

First opened in 1885, the Rijksmuseum is by far the largest museum in the Netherlands. Its collections contain important paintings, sculptures and historical artefacts from the Netherlands.
Project
A flexible sign system for a complex building with four entrances and former courtyards being added to the classical gallery layout.
Outcome
For the sign system we looked to the diversity of exhibits and the complexity of architectural styles of the building, drawing from them as an image resource. The signs are modular and makes use of magnetic foil to facilitate changes of exhibitions and departments.
