Danish Post

Client
Danish Post.
Project
Initiated in 1993, completed in 1995. Visual identity, including logo signing system, brandmanual and various print media.
Outcome
For its privatisation in 1993, the Danish Post invited Studio Dumbar to work together with the Copenhagen design group Kontrapunkt. The objective was to arrive at a new company logo that would convey the dynamism of the new corporate structure while, at the same time, being careful not to relinquish the long history and tradition of the royal institution.
Articulated three-dimensional signs in vivid colours. The basis of the new style is the universally familiar post horn, shown together with the Danish crown, the two images being endorsed typographically with a face based on the distinctive work of the Danish typographic designer Knud V. Engelhardt.
