Client

The Champalimaud Foundation, a private organisation that supports individual researchers and research teams working at the cutting edge of medical science.

Project

Initiated in 2005, ongoing. Visual identity and various items including stationary, report covers, wrapping paper, powerpoint templates and website.

Outcome

The letterforms ‘cf’ give rise to a circle, the circle of life. The red circle can be seen as a representation of the interior world – as seen through the lens of a microscope – as well as the exterior world , as experienced through the senses. By virtue of repetition, the logo can be organised to form an array of distinctive patterns referring to scientific formulas. All logo variants are easily identified to represent the Champalimaud Foundation.
